On the weekend of Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25, soccer players across Sydney whose teams had supported the popular #GoingPurpleForPancreaticCancer fundraiser, donned the very distinctive Purple Avner socks to play their games.
One of our newly appointed Foundation Governor’s, Isabella DiManno, is continuing her very popular fundraising “purple socks” sports initiative which will take place in 2017 on the weekend of Saturday, 24th and Sunday, 25th June.
The #GoingPurpleforPancreatic initiative was the brainchild of one of our wonderful volunteers, Isabella DiManno who wanted to do something to raise awareness of the disease and of our work and to raise desperately needed funds for research.
Thanks to Isabella DiManno, on the weekend of the 6th-7th June 2015, 300 football players from 5 clubs donned purple socks in a move to build awareness of Pancreatic Cancer and raise funds for the foundation.
