The Avner Foundation made a lot of new friends this year, including many new people affected by Pancreatic Cancer and researchers who are working tirelessly to find a cure for the disease. It was particularly rewarding to end the year by bringing together one of our new-found supporters and friend, Dean Gorddard, with one of our new research collaborators.

We are delighted to advise that on December 19, 2017 the Turnbull Government announced further support for cancer research with $8 million in grants.

As the Sydney Opera House glowed purple on the eve of World Pancreatic Cancer Day, we revealed the six recipients of our 2017 grants program who will collectively receive $2M for Pancreatic Cancer research.

We are so excited to announce that the NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers have pledged their support of the Wish You Were Here campaign and by doing so supporting the Avner Foundation in raising awareness and funding for Pancreatic Cancer research, treatment and detection.

The Western Sydney Wanderers will be supporting the Wish You Were Here team in both their Kokoda Trek walk and their Gala Dinner being held on November 8.

For World Pancreatic Cancer Day this year the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance of which we are a proud member, are turning the Sydney Opera House Purple to raise awareness of this insidious disease!
