Palm Beach 'Put Your Foot Down' Walk

Monday, 07 November 2011 Posted in Past Events, 2011

Sunday 30th of October was the date of our third Sydney walk. A record 198 people registered either online or on the day and almost $17,000 was raised for the Garvan Institute for Pancreatic Cancer research.

People came from all walks of life and all locations. Their reasons for supporting the event were varied - many came in memory of a loved one who were taken by this disease, others came to support friends or simply because they wanted to take action to help get this underdog of a cancer out of the too hard basket. Whatever the reasons, all at Avner's Foundation are grateful for their support and for embracing the colour purple, the international colour of Pancreatic Cancer, so strongly.
