2014 Brisbane "Put Your Foot Down" Walk

Wednesday, 01 October 2014 Posted in Past Events, 2014

A perfect spring day was the backdrop for a fantastic walk in Brisbane on the 28th September. 232 people registered for the walk and $24,948 has been raised so far. It was a huge increase on last year and so heartwarming to see so many wanting to be part of the push to raise awareness and funds for Pancreatic Cancer research.

A big thank you to everyone who registered, fundraised or donated to this total. You are what makes hope possible!

I would also like to thank everyone who volunteered and the planning duo of Jason McKinnon and Tim Dalton, who were incredible. Many of the volunteers have been helping out every year and are such a joy to work with. The Nielsen and Burow families turn out in force as part of this and I look forward to our yearly catch up. Thank you also to Greg and Jane who not only host me every trip, but help out in immeasurable ways.

Thank you to Dr. Nic Waddell for speaking about the research and the progress made into understanding the disease. And thank you to Chris Dolan from The Edge PT who not only was our highest individual fundraiser but also did the fun warm-up exercise routine!
